A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a licensed provider in the health and medical field. In order to work in this field, the providers at RD 207 obtained Bachelors and Masters degrees in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Further, they trained in supervised practice in the hospital, community, and food service fields. After, they were eligible to sit for a national exam for the RD certification. They are required to participate in continued education and maintain state and national credentialing.
What is Medical Nutrition Therapy?
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is essentially using nutrition to address certain medical conditions. When you hear the term, "diet and lifestyle changes" that is where MNT fits. Here at RD 207, we look at the whole picture and provide education, guidance and support to improve overall health and well-being, with special attention paid to certain conditions.
What is your COVID-19 response?
At RD 207, we have been using Teleheath for video appointments. Think of it like Skype. Most insurance companies are allowing for this to continue in 2021. Further, should a face-to-face visit be needed, we have a private office and waiting room to support physical distancing from others. We take all necessary screening precautions very seriously. The office is thoroughly cleaned before and after sessions. Additionally, please note that both of our Dietitians have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
How can I afford to see a Dietitian?
Pretty easily! Most insurance companies pay for visits with a dietitian. While some have limits to the number of visits, or the type of diagnoses that are covered, there are others that have unlimited visits for preventative care. If we are in-network with your insurance, we bill them directly. If we are out-of-network, we provide you with a SuperBill to submit for reimbursement. We accept payments through our secure Healthie program. Did you know, you can even use your HSA/FSA funds to pay for sessions? Finally, we also will consider cash-pay for those without adequate insurance.

What can I expect?
We like to get to know you. We ask a lot of questions, which we call an assessment. Our focus is around whichever health concern prompted the visit or referral, but we care about it all. Working together, we create a comfortable space to make real changes. We then provide ongoing support, through our 24/7 messaging feature and follow-up visits.
